Armagh Easter Lily Launch

Armagh Sinn Féin launch Easter Lily Campaign Sinn Fein elected representatives and party members recently gathered in Armagh city to formally launch this year's "Wear your Easter Lily with Pride" Campaign and Easter Commemoration event details. The Easter Lily is a symbol which recognises Ireland's patriot dead who gave their lives in the pursuit for freedom and independence. Speaking at the launch, local Assembly member Cathal Boylan said, "Easter is a special time for Republicans when we honour those who made a very special and unselfish contribution to our struggle. It is particularly fitting that we launch our lily in Armagh city which is home to a very proud and rich history of patriotism and activism. "I would call on people to wear the Easter Lily and attend their local commemorations. We must never forget those who made selfless contributions during very difficult times, and this year in particular we will be remembering Sinn Féin member Peter Corrigan who was assinated on the Loughgall Road almost 30 years ago. "For those who would like to purchase an Easter Lily both paper and metal pin Easter Lily's are available from the Armagh Sinn Féin office, 02837511797. The Armagh City Easter Parade takes place on Easter Monday assembling at Irish St corner at 2pm."
