Sinn Féin MLA for Newry and Armagh, Mickey Brady has today welcomed the announcement that ASDA is to drop its petrol prices below £1 per litre and has called on other supermarkets to follow suit.
Mr. Brady said,
"This drop in price is indeed good news. However, a recent report from the Consumer Council states that petrol and diesel prices could be even lower at supermarkets and independent filling stations. "As the credit crunch is really kicking in people are feeling the strain of high fuel prices."
"I am calling on all filling stations to reduce the price of fuel and at time when people need it most |
