DSD Committee report on DLA welcomed

Sinn Féin Newry and Armagh MLA Mickey Brady has welcomed the report from the DSD committee into administration of DLA.

Speaking following a debate on the issue Mr Brady said,

"The Social Development Committee is at one with the issues of concern around the DLA, both in terms of its administration and its accessibility.

"The report has made 13 recommendations broadly representative of the concerns the general public have in relation to it; particularly around the complexities in filling in the DLA forms.

"While the committee cannot change the law in relation to this issue we can and indeed should improve how it's implemented."
