Warning on Forged Notes

Sinn Féin Councilor Cathy Rafferty has urged the people of Armagh to be on the lookout for fraudulent notes.

"I have been made aware that there are fake Ulster Bank £20 notes and fake 50 euro notes in circulation. As a business woman I know how hard it is for everyone in business at the moment. Both traders and shoppers should be alerted to this problem"

"It is in the interest of both shoppers and traders to be mindful of these notes as they both lose out with this crime. Shoppers will suffer because prices will rise to cover the losses and traders will lose out from the loss of stock and monies to meet their ever increasing overheads, like theft this is not a victimless crime as some believe, and we must all be on our guard to prevent it"
