Keep an eye out on elderly neighbours over Christmas - Rafferty

Published: 15 December, 2008

Following the robberies in the homes of two elderly women in Armagh over the weekend Sinn Féin's Cathy Rafferty has called on people to look out for their elderly neighbours.

Cllr Rafferty said,

"Many elderly people live alone and are quite vulnerable to these types of burglaries. It is a terrible experience for anyone to have to go through so I am appealing to anyone who lives near an elderly person to keep an eye out and to check on them whenever they can. It is important so these opportunist thieves wont have the chance to carry out these crimes.

"I would also ask anyone with any information to bring it forward to the relevant authorities."
