TOWN HALL HEATING FAILURE SOURCE OF ACUTE EMBARRASSMENT

Sinn FéinNewry and Mourne Councillor Pat mc Ginn has said that the failure of the heating System in the Town Hall was a source of acute embarrasment and he has demanded that the Council immediately rectify what he has described as a riduclous situation.

Cllr. McGinn said,

"I attended an event in the Town Hall on Sunday afternoon. The place was freezing and the reason offered was that the computer system was down and could not be overriden"

"It was acutely embarrasing for myself as a Councillor and the caretakers there present".

The Sinn FeinCouncillor explained that many thousands of pounds had been spent on the heating system, and what was now needed to be known was what actually was going wrong. "This has not been the first time. I have been reliably informed that it is common, so what is needed now is answers" said Pat who concluded by stating that the matter had been raised with senior Officials.
