Newry Identity Campaign to Address Council MeetingPublished: 19 January, 2009
Newry Identity Campaign chairperson and Sinn Féin Assembly member for Newry and Armagh, Mickey Brady has confirmed that NIC will address the Newry and Mourne DisitrictCouncil's Technical/Environmental Committee on Tuesday (20th) and deliver a presentation outlining that campaign's proposals on how to maintain the Newry urban identity.
Mr. Brady said,
"The presentation to the Council is intended to build upon a number of consultations that we have had with various community groups as well as a public meeting which we hosted in the Canal Court Hotel last December. We are now hoping to gain the support of the Council for our proposals."
"I hope that our proposals are endorsed by all parties so that the people of Newry can speak with a unified voice in order to prevent the break up of our community."
