"Farmers should apply for Farm Moderniastion Scheme before 17th February" - Hearty

Sinn Féin Cllr Terry Hearty has urged all farmers to avail of the Farm Modernisation Scheme as the deadline for applications approaches. The £12 million scheme which was initiated by the Agriculture Minister Michelle Gildernew will be open to farmers until 17th February.

Cllr Hearty said:

"This scheme will allow farmers to invest in their businesses. This will help our farmers become more competitive.

"There is a straightforward and simplified application process so farmers should contact their local DARD office so that they can see what they need to do to access this £12 million scheme.

"This will be of huge benefit to the individual farmer who wants to invest in upgrading their farm machinery and will also bring millions into our rural areas with increased business for local suppliers. I would encourage all farmers to apply as soon as possible as the deadline approaches." ENDS
