Beware of European City Guide Scam - Sinn Féin

Sinn Féin's Anthony Flynn has called on business in South Armagh to watch out for letters and emails from a company calling itself European City Guide (ECG).

Cllr Flynn said,

"I was approached by a group in South Armagh after they had been sent a bill by ECG. I have looked into this group and have been informed that ECG has suffered both civil and criminal convictions for misleading advertising, fraud and attempted fraud. They have mailed over 32 million trick contracts in the last 6 years and around 250,000 people have signed their bogus agreements. I would encourage anyone who receives an advertisement from this group to ignore it."

Cllr Flynn also stated that due to the criminal convictions that ECG has been given it is almost impossible for them to legally enforce these bogus contracts. In fact out of 200,000 people who have refused to pay the group, none have been taken to court to pay."
