Newry and Armagh Sinn FéinMLA Cathal Boylan has condemned the numerous violent assaults in Armagh and Keady over the Easter weekend. A number of young people were injured over the weekend which included an incident involving a knife.
Mr Boylan and Armagh Cllr Cathy Rafferty have called for more appropriate measures to be introduced in order to ensure the safety of people in the area.
Mr Boylan said,
"More needs to be done in order to tackle these violent crimes. I hope that the CCTV in the area will provide proper protection and help eradicate this type of behaviour in the future."
Cllr Rafferty has indicated that following discussions with the PSNI she is hopeful that their investigations will ultimately lead to the assailants being apprehended, before it leads to someone being more seriously injured.
