MLA calls for mound at A1 to be removedPublished: 17 April, 2009
Sinn Féin MLA for Newry and Armagh Mickey Brady has said that local residents at Parkhead Crescentare becoming increasingly frustrated due to the large 'unsightly' mound at the A1.
Mr Brady had been contacted by a number of residents who are concerned that the 15 foot high mound is not only unsightly but also young kids are climbing the mound in order to throw debris at passing vehicles on the Camlough Rd.
Mr. Brady said,
"I recently visited the site with local residents who had raised concerns through our constituency office. I can understand how this situation would be extremely distressing as this mound is not only blocking the view of the houses, it is also blocking a resident's right of way, is full of rubbish and is providing a platform for local children to throw debris at passing cars."
"I have contacted the contractors who have assured me that the situation will be remedied as soon as possible."
Mr Brady concluded by stating that he would monitor the situation to ensure that this was the case |
