Sinn Féin public meeting - Caledonian Keady 29th April 7.30

A national conversation - public meetings across Ireland

Newry and Armagh MP Conor Murphy has announced details of a public meeting which will take place on Wednesday 29th April at 7.30 in the Caledonian, Keady. Mr Murphy explained that the event was one of ten public meetings to be held by Sinn Féin across the Six Counties in the coming weeks as part of the programme of nation building.

The panel for the event will feature Bairbre de Brún MEP, Junior Minister Gerry Kelly MLA, Minister Conor Murphy MP MLA as well as other Sinn Féin leadership figures.

Encouraging all in Newry/Armagh to attend the event Mr Murphy said,

"These meetings have been organised following a series of public meetings and engagements across the 26 Counties and the announcement that Sinn Féin will host two major conferences in the USA this summer and a conference next year in Britain."

"In recent weeks the Sinn Fein leadership has travelled the length and breadth of Ireland. There have been public meetings and engagements in Dublin, Cork, Longford, Mullingar, Ennis and Kerry. There have also been hugely successful Easter events rights across the island."

"This is part of our commitment to engage with people, at home and abroad, about the future of Ireland and our commitment to a process of reconciliation and nation building; a national conversation about the future direction of Ireland.

"Sinn Féin want to engage with people, and particularly those who genuinely care about the future of Ireland and Irish Unity. This is an important opportunity for people to speak directly to the Sinn Fein leadership about their hopes for the future and about how we meet the economic challenges we are facing head on.

"Democracy requires the active participation of citizens and demands that we go out and engage directly with local communities. These meetings underline our commitment to a future based on a democracy of the people, by the people and for the people." ENDS
