Sinn Féin MLA Mickey Brady has called for the local community to support National Learning Disability Awareness week.
Mr Brady said,
"As it is presently National Learning Disability Awareness Week (19 - 25 June) I am calling on the people of this area to support the work of local organisations such as Prospects and more particularly the event which will take place tomorrow (24th) in Ballybot House.
Mr Brady who will attend the event along with local councillors and party colleagues explained the purpose of the week,
"The aims of the week are to make more people aware about what it means to have a learning disability; and to show how, given the right support and opportunities, people with a learning disability can be included and achieve a lot in life.
