MP calls for calm after swine flu case is confirmed in Newry

Sinn Féin MP for Newry and Armagh, Conor Murphy has called for the people of Newry to remain calm and not overreact after it was confirmed that a child in the town had contracted the swine flu virus.

Mr Murphy said,

"While we must recognise the seriousness of this situation it is important that we do not panic. I would appeal to the people of the Newry area to remain calm and not to overreact to this situation."
