Sinn Féin MP Conor Murphy has congratulated the McCreeshMcCabel Sinn Féin cumann in Mullach Bán as their extremely successful mini gealtacht, Coláiste Airt in Tí Chulainn came to a close.

Over 65 children ranging from 6 to 12 years of age participated enthusiastically in week long activities ranging from Irish language classes, games and trips to local historical sites to music, ceili dancing and story telling.

Mr Murphy was speaking after presenting prizes to some of the children aged age, who took part in the week long Irish language event.

"I wish to commend the work of those republican activists from the Mullach Bán area who organised this fantastic event. Not only did it provide a fun and entertaining week for local children, it has also gone some way to promoting the Irish language in a fun and enjoyable way."

Mullach Bán Sinn Féin Cumann member and organiser Dearbhla Bennett says: "Coláiste Airt has been a great opportunity to encourage children to learn and use the Irish language and to allow them to learn about the rich Irish cultural surroundings in which they live".
