Keady Sinn Féin councillor Darren McNally has urged rural dwellers to apply for SOAR's rural development programme which will open for full application on the 3rd of August. An official launch will take place in the old mill, Keady on 31st July

SOAR (Southern organisation for action in rural areas) has made £16.7million available for Armagh, Newry and Craigavon council areas through European and Department of Agriculture funding.

Cllr McNally said,

"I would encourage all farmers and rural dwellers to apply for SOAR's rural development programme which will open for full application on 3rd August.

"From 3rd to 16th of August - three of the six measures will be open. These include; farm diversification, micro business and tourism. The next three will open shortly afterwards but there has been no date confirmed yet.

"I have previously encouraged people to fill out an expression of interest form - there is still time for those who have not yet applied to do so.

Cllr McNally concluded by commending the work of Minister for Agriculture, Michelle Gildernew who helped make this funding available.
