Fews area Newry and Mourne Sinn Fein Councillor Pat Mc Ginn commenting on news of the accident stated

"We are shocked and stunned at the news of further carnage and death on our roads. Once again homes, and familes have been destroyed, and at this present stage the thoughts and prayers of all our community is with those who have lost their lives.
