Mr. Brady said:
"The Warm Homes Scheme is available to people on a wide range of benefits both householders and those who rent from a private landlord. Under this scheme, a grant of up to £850 is available for the following improvements: Cavity Wall Insulation Loft Insulation, Hot Water Cylinder Jackets, and Benefit Entitlement Check Energy Advice.
"The Warm Home Plus Scheme is also available to people on a wide range of benefits. As well measures contained in the Warm Homes package a grant of up to £4300 is available for the installation of a new energy efficient oil or gas central heating system, or the repair or upgrade of an existing one.
"It is clear that there are many more householders eligible for grant assistance towards making their homes warmer, healthier and energy efficient than those who have so far have taken up the grants.
"The incorporation of Warm Home measures into your home will help to substantially cut home energy bills and as such are key elements in combating fuel poverty.
"If anyone is uncertain about their eligibility for these schemes they can contact the Warm Homes Scheme Manager on freephone 0800 988 0559." |
