Sinn Féin MP for Newry and Armagh Conor Murphy has congratulated the organisers, participants and the wider community after the world long-distance open-water swim record was broken on Camlough lake. The record of 480km was broken today but the swimmers are set to continue until Saturday to establish and even better world record.

Mr Murphy said,

"I am delighted that the world record has been broken in Camlough. All the hard work that has been put in by the organisers, participants and the wider community has paid off. This is a fabulous achievement and something which has brought great pride to this area.
