Respect older people at Halloween - McNallyPublished: 12 October, 2009
Keady Sinn Féin councillor Darren McNally has called young people to respect the elderly over the Halloween period. Cllr McNally made the call after being contacted by residents of Crossmore Green, Fairgreen and St. Matthews regarding the use of fireworks near pensioners' homes.
Cllr McNally said;
"I have been contacted by a number of residents who were concerned about the use of fireworks near the homes of older people in Keady. I would agree with their worries that this behaviour may frighten the elderly residents in the area. Many of these people live by themselves and may feel quite vulnerable.
"I would call on the young people of the area to be mindful of their actions and realise the consequences that it may have for the older people in our community." |
