GOOD WORK ON CLADYMILLTOWN ROAD - Sinn Féin

Published: 19 October, 2009

Sinn Féin Councillor Mary Doyle has welcomed the excellent work by roads service after they completed a number of upgrades on the

Cladymilltown Road

.

Cllr Doyle said;

"I was approached recently by residents on the Cladymilltown road as the condition of the road was extremely poor, there were numerous potholes on the road - some were 4ft wide and 1ft deep. Flooding was also a regular occurrence at times of heavy rain due to the fact there were no gullies to catch the water.

"A bridge at the junction onto the main Cladymilltown road had fallen into the hedge simply because the exit was not wide enough and the structure became weak over time.

"I contacted Roads Service and I am delighted by their quick response. The potholes have been filled in and they have also installed new drainage on the roadside to prevent flooding. The sides of bridge will also be rebuilt in the near future. I will continue to pursue the Roads Service on this issue .
