"These activist meetings are designed to inform and invigorate our party members," the Sinn Fein MP stated, "Sinn Fein's strength has always been its people and the party is fortunate to have such a wide group of committed activists who are prepared to devote their time to the party in the run up to the elections.

"The feedback we have received from our activists and support base has been extremely positive. There is a real energy amongst our members as a result of Sinn Féin securing policing & justice, abolishing academic selection and delivering for our communities with investment in infrastructure and our rural communities.

"Sinn Féin members are all too aware that this election is as important as any other in terms of our republican objectives. This is another opportunity to increase the republican mandate and build support for Irish Unity.

"A large part of our activist gatherings focuses on our political strategy, where the party is going and the steps we need to take to make our aims a reality.

"Many activists have expressed their enthusiasm to get out canvassing and begin the fight for every vote on the doorsteps. In addition I welcome any members of the public who would like to get involved with assisting Sinn Fein in our election preparations; those interested should contact their local office or a party member"
