MLA stunned as 22 cattle die of starvation

Sinn Fein MLA for Newry/Armagh Cathal Boylan has said that he is stunned to hear that 22 cattle have died of starvation in a county Armagh farm. Mr Boylan said: "I am stunned and horrified to hear of the conditions in which these animals died. Read full article

100,000 OF RATES MONEY GOES TO CHURCH OF IRELAND .

At a recent meeting of the Executive Committee of Armagh City and District Council, council officials brought forward a request from the Church Of Ireland, Cathedral Board, requesting financial support for a tourism project at the Cathedral. Though they are accessing funds from other agencies, they have a shortfall of £100,000 and were requesting the council fund this shortfall. At the meeting Cllr Mary Doyle expressed concerns around as to why this request had reached the Executive Committee so late and consequently required the Executive to reach a very hurried decision concerning the allocation of a significant amount of ratepayers money. Condemnation of gun attack in Crossmaglen - Sinn Féin

Crossmaglen Sinn Féin councillor Terry Hearty said that those responsible for the gun attack on Crossmaglen barracks will achieve nothing for the people of South Armagh. Hearty presses Bank of Ireland to state when ATM will be replaced

Crossmaglen Sinn Féin councillor Terry Hearty has said that the Bank of Ireland must let the people of Crossmaglen know if and when the stolen ATM will be replaced. The ATM was recently ripped from the wall of the bank by a criminal gang. Read full article

Weapons retrieved at Cloghogue

Commenting on the news that a number of weapons had been recovered during a PSNI raid of a site at the Forkhill Road, Cloghogue where members of the travelling community had been staying local councillor Packie McDonald said; "The community in South Armagh are relieved that these weapons have been removed from society. While it is unclear at present why these weapons were being kept at the site, I am glad that they have removed and cannot place anyone in danger." Read full article

Incompetent policing allowed the theft of Crossmaglen ATM to take place - Hearty

Crossmaglen Sinn Féin councillor Terry Hearty has said that the theft of an ATM from the town last night was the result of incompetent policing.
