MLA congratulates students on GCSE / A Level results

Cathal Boylan, Sinn Féin Assembly member for Newry and Armagh, has offered his congratulations to students from all the local schools who received their GCSE and A Level results in recent weeks.

'For many, these results are based on hard work over a number of years. Local schools are once again reporting remarkable achievements by their students, and this reflects not only on the pupils, but also their parents and the teaching staff within the various schools.

I congratulate all those who achieved their expectations, and for many, bettered them. For those who may be disappointed, I would say do not be disheartened, you tried your best which is all can be asked, it is not the end of the world and you always have the opportunity to try again. Education does not stop at 16 or 17 years of age, so have confidence in yourself to try again and improve.

I wish all the students well on the next step in their academic careers and hopefully more success will be forthcoming to them all in the future.'
