McCreesh Secures Traffic Calming Scheme for Whitecross

Sinn Fein councillor for the Fews, Jimmy McCreesh, has recently secured assurances from the DOE that a Traffic Calming Scheme will be introduced in Whitecross. The scheme will be similar to that in Belleeks Village and will ensure that vehicles will drive considerably slower when passing through the village.

Clr McCreesh said, 'I want to welcome the decision from the DOE to introduce this initiative in Whitecross. I have received many complaints from local residents of vehicles driving at excessive speeds through the village and I outlined these complaints to the DOE representative. The DOE were very receptive and will begin proceedings when the schools commence in September.'
