Hearty welcomes launch of Rural Sustainability CommitteePublished: 16 September, 2008
Sinn Féin spokesperson on agriculture on Newry and Mourne District Council, Terry HeartyHHHHJhdsklhgklhsd has welcomed the launch of an all-party Assembly committee focusing on rural issues. The all-party group will work closely with the Rural Community Network to address rural issues at the very heart of the Assembly.
Mr Hearty said,
"The formation of this all-party committee will be welcomed by rural communities across the north; this committee should be about striking the balance between rural issues and rural communities representation at the heart of the Assembly.
"It will focus on addressing issues such as rural identity, infrastructure, poverty and connectivity; issues which effect people throughout rural Ireland. The committee will focus on rural development and protection."
