Councillor Supports Pól Brennan

Published: 16 September, 2008

Speaking to a Sinn Féin party meeting Councillor Darren McNally expressed his support for Long Kesh escapee Pól Brennan in his fight against extradition; Darren said Pól has been living in the USA since 1984 and after the British Government withdrew extradition proceedings against him and 3 others, granting them the right to live and work there, he has done so openly since 2000.
Mr. McNally said
"Pól Brennan now finds himself again fighting against attempts to remove him from what is his home"
"Pól has been awaiting the outcome for his application for political asylum and was arrested at a routine road stop on the way to visit his in-laws in Texas.
I urge everyone to visit www.polbrennan.com to read about his campaign and to sign the online petition at this site"
"You can also find an address there at which you can write to Pól expressing your support for his campaign to remain with his family and friends"
