Councilor Brendan Curran calls for upgrade of High Street RocksPublished: 18 September, 2008
Sinn Féin council leader on Newry and Mourne District Council, Brendan Curran has called for High Street Rocks to be upgraded to a community park.
Councillor Curran said,
"High Street Rocks has potential to be a fantastic amenity for all the people of Newry. If properly upgraded to park standard the area could be used by families, people young and old and would be great in the summer months."
"I have raised this issue with the Council stating that this park has been in Council ownership for over 20 years in which time very little has been done."
Mr. Curran concluded,
"I now hope to see this community facility become a Grade A park for everyone"
